Golden Link Braunvieh Carcass Quality
Golden Link has always been on the cutting edge for genetics testing, especially when carcass traits are involved. Five years out of six, Golden Link bloodlines have produced the Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion carcass value pen at the midwest's top steer test: The Great Western Beef Expo, Sterling Colorado. These bloodlines have also hung-up top carcasses all around the country, including the renowned Texas A&M Ranch to Rail program. At the 1997 National western Fed Beef contest in Denver Colorado, a pen of Braunvieh sired cattle were Grand Champion in Restaurant Division. Both pens were from Golden Link bloodlines. Recently a pen of 88 Braunvieh cross steers sired by Golden Link bulls were sold on Monforts Select Supplier Grid. The pen graded 95.5% choice and prime, 62.4% yield grade 1 and 2, no yield grade 4's and no out cattle. This pen had the highest added value for a group of cattle year to date for the Monfort formula, 5/16/96.

Golden Link Braunvieh Feed Conversion
No other factor figures in as important as pounds of feed per pound of gain. Once again, Golden Link genetics are proven tested. Golden Link bloodlines have a four year average feed conversion of 5.34 lb. of gain. Similar ratios have been echoed by feedlots from the Panhandle to the Rockies.

Golden Link Braunvieh Cow Herd Efficiency
Here's where these cattle really put your money in the bank. Golden Link hardiness and adaptability are evident from Northern Canada to Southern Mexico. Calving ease is extraordinary, as Golden Link bloodlines have recently had the lowest birth weight (76 lb.) and the shortest gestation length (280 days) of any sires at the prestigious Montana progeny test. These genetics consistently wean-off calves at 55-65% of the dam's weight, with consistent rapid breedback times. Adaptability, calving ease, strong performance and high maternal traits combine to create some of the most efficient genetics available to any cowherd.
